The biblical word repent carries with it the idea of turning away from a wrong or evil direction and adopting a righteous one. You cannot serve God and Mammon. Your involvement with the world is only as a witness, not as one of the guys. God never called you to be a nice person. To have Spirit kindness and goodness is far beyond niceness. Goodness is holy, not carnal. God is Holy.
Learn to say "no", to evil people. Learn to say "no", to the plans of the carnal. Learn to walk alone if need be. God is all there is that you can be absolutely confident in. Family will betray you in this last day. Church folk will betray you as well. Let the evil one go thier way. God is true, all men are liars.
Minister to the poor, but don't compromise to do so. Love God. Love your neighbor enough to be the one who tells them their ways are not God. Call not that which is evil, good, or that which is good evil.
God is Good. God is Holy. God is Love. Glorified humainty is not God.
Love is Patient, and Kind. Love is gold. Niceness is rust. Love is of God. Niceness is just humanism.
